Who We Are
Tennis World dates back to 1923, when it was Linthorpe Tennis Club based on Reeth Road in Linthorpe, which consisted of 5 outdoor shale courts. In 1974 Linthorpe Tennis Club wanted to expand and develop the club, with the help of Middlesbrough Council. In 1983 they acquired the land at Prissick Base and built 6 outdoor tennis courts, opening up in 1984.
In 1986 the indoor courts and the clubhouse were built by Foster Garton & Tennis World was born.
Approximately 4 years later the members acquired the club.
Since 1990 we have made many changes to the club house including the revamp of the function room & back bar. One notable addition to Tennis World has been the two, fully covered Padel courts which were built in 2018 & Middlesbrough Padel Club was born. Tennis World now stands with 4 indoor tennis courts, 6 outdoor tennis courts, and a clubhouse/function room.
